Turtle eggs

While taking our daily "walk around the block" Ellen and I notice many turtle egg nests along Cambridge Turnpike.
As usual in early June, most nests are dug up and emptied by skunks and coyotes almost as soon as they are built.
But last week as we walked near the Hawthorne Lane bridge over the Mill Brook Ellen noticed an exposed nest that heavy rain had uncovered.
It had five eggs, looking like miniature ping pong balls.  We covered them with dirt and hope they have a chance to hatch.
